IRS Employees Fraudulently Used Government Benefits

IRSAccording to FOX News, 24 former and current employees of the Internal Revenue Service or IRS have been charged with stealing benefits. These means that these individuals have been using American Government fund’s and taxpayers’ contributions.
Word from the US attorney’s office in Memphis on Wednesday states that they have received benefits amounting to $250,000.¬†Fraudulently acquired, these benefits include unemployment insurance payments, food stamps, welfare, and housing vouchers.
Prosecutors say 13 of the IRS employees face federal charges of lying about being unemployed while applying for or recertifying their government benefits. Eleven others face state charges of theft of property over $1,000.
