How a Criminal Record Works

How a Criminal Record WorksAlthough a criminal record sounds like a sinister thing, having one surprisingly isn’t as uncommon as you might think. Whether it may be due to a drastic increase of normal citizens turned criminal offenders, stricter law enforcement or just a bad case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, the crime rate has markedly risen.
Whether innocent or once proven guilty, you can never guess when knowing a thing or two about what goes in a criminal record may come in handy.
A criminal record is simply information that’s kept about a person’s arrests and convictions.┬áIt begins when a suspect is arrested for a crime. The person is fingerprinted and photographed. All of his or her personal information is recorded along with the information about the current arrest. If he or she is convicted of the crime, that information is also stored.
