Lawmaker Sentenced Because of DUI Charge

A state senator was sentenced after pleading guilty to driving under the under the influence in his northwest Omaha district.

According to police report, he was pulled over early morning on Feb. 27 after he was caught driving unsteadily. His breath test also returned a blood alcohol level that was almost three times the legal limit.

Lawmaker Scott Lautenbaugh was fined $500 relative to the DUI charge. He was also given a year of probation and two days in jail. The senator is likely to spend his jail time at home since he is qualified for a house arrest.
