Former Retirement Village Employee Charged with Credit Card Theft

IdentityTheftAn employee of Porter Hills Presbyterian Village, a retirement village in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has been charged with several offenses. On April 2, Cindy Lou Scoby was arrested for 2 counts of identity theft, home invasion, larceny and habitual offenses. She confessed to stealing from a resident of the community while on the job.

Apparently, Scoby stole the identity of her sister in order to get a job in the area. She also stole a resident’s credit card and used it at Meijer, the Sheriff’s Department says.
She is currently jailed at Kent County Jail under a $50,000 cash bond.
