Driver of Stuck Truck Charged with Reckless Driving

After his truck got stuck underneath Henrico bridge, William Hickman now faces a reckless driving charge. The crash shut down a part of Darbytown Road for several hours.

“He actually moved the bridge, he actually jacked the bridge up three inches, he was pinned under there,” said George Jones, a tow truck driver who helped get the trailer out.

While there was a sign that warns drivers of the 12 feet maximum height for passing under the bridge, Hickman tried yet failed to push his trailer through. After the trailer was removed, trains were allowed to travel over the bridge but at a slower speed.
