Woman Guilty of Murdering Adopted Girl

Carri Williams has been found guilty of murdering her adoptive daughter, 13-year-old Hana Williams who was born in Ethiopia. Hana was starved and she was locked outside of their home when temperatures are around 40F. She was found unconscious before midnight and died of hypothermia.

Cari was convicted of homicide by abuse and of manslaughter resulting to the death of Hana. The adoptive father, Larry Williams, was also convicted of first-degree manslaughter, according to Skagit County prosecutor’s office.

Investigators said that Hana had been beaten, starved, and forced to sleep outside and she has lost weight since she was adopted in 2008. Her 10-year-old brother who was also born in Ethiopia was treated the same.
