Couple Charged with Domestic Violence Dismissed

Aron Ralston, a hiker, was the inspiration behind an Oscar-nominated movie entitled, “127 Hours”. Aside from being an inspiration to a movie’s plot, when he cut his own arm to escape a boulder pinning him to death, Ralston was charged with domestic violence together with his girlfriend – Vita Stramaglia Shannon.

The couple was charged “with assault and wrongs to minors”, an offense where violent incidents continue occurring in front of a child without injuring the latter.

The child involved was their 8-week-old daughter, according to a police investigation. Fortunately for the couple, the judge assigned to hear the case dismissed the initial hearing after agreeing to their attorney’s request.
